Description Technical Specs Extended Information    The idea to design AS-8000 is for the retail market:  Ergonomic shape & light weight  Easy to hold and operate even by ladies  Hand free with sleep mode!!!  At present, only AS-8310, AS-8312, and AS-8000 / AS-8080 have sleep mode.  Sleep mode is useful for retail market especially. With sleep mode, the scan beam turns off automatically after certain time duration, and wake up automatically if a bar code is placed under the scanner window. � Default time duration is 6 seconds, after 6 seconds the scan beam will turn off automatically. However, you can change the duration time as you like (0~99 seconds).  This is a patent of Argox. Not like other scanner manufacturers that install additional sensor to detect moving objects and reactivate the scan beam, Argox scanners reactivate the scan beam by using CCD itself to detect the variation of light source!  It automatically realizes when scanner is picking up by user and switch on the red LED light.
