The Falcon® 4400 Series is an ergonomic, rugged portable data terminal combining the flexibility of the Windows® CE .NET operating system with wireless data communications, bar code scanning, and the highest performing Intel PXA255 XScale microprocessor. The Falcon® 4400 Series with its overmolded enclosure is designed for warehouse, distribution center, and retail in store environments, where maximum performance is required in a rugged yet ergonomic form factor.
The Falcon® 4400 Series color mobile computer incorporates all of the features users are demanding today, including the latest in mobile computing technology from Microsoft, Cisco, and Intel, a wide variety of scanning options (Standard, Long Range, and Advanced Long Range laser scanners, linear imager, and a 2D imager), a large 3.5” QVGA color display, a 2000 mAh Lithium Ion battery, and an integrated handle on the Falcon 4420.
26-Key Keypad 48-Key Keypad 52-Key Keypad/ 5250 52-Key Keypad
The Falcon® 4400 Series is available with either a 26-key alphanumeric keypad for primarily numeric keypad data entry and a 48-key or 52-key full alpha keypad for numeric and text data entry. Two versions of the 52-key full alpha are available: a standard 52-key keypad and a 5250 Terminal Emulation keypad with 5250 specific keys.
Tested to repeated 5.0’ / 1.5 M drops to concrete, a thermoplastic urethane overmolded enclosure, an IP54 environmental rating, and an 86dBA (at 24”) / 100dBA (at 10 cm) beeper, the Falcon® 4400 Series is designed to handle demanding data collection tasks in commercial and industrial environments.
The Falcon® 4400 Series includes the Microsoft® Pocket WordPad, Internet Explorer 6.0 (browser), and Inbox (email) applications so you are ready to run right out of the box. Windows CE .NET provides developers with the greatest flexibility for application development. For example, developers can use
Microsoft’s eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0, Visual C# .NET, Visual Basic .NET or Personal Java 1.2. In addition to these industry standard development environments, developers can choose to use many other development tools designed to develop web applications or Windows CE/PocketPC applications.
Additionally, PSC (and others) offers a variety of vertically oriented development tools for the Falcon® 4400 Series, including Wavelink Studio and a broad selection of terminal emulators for VT100/220, IBM 3270, IBM 5250, and HP700/92 applications.
The RF versions of the Falcon® 4400 Series portable comes with the industry leading Cisco Aironet 802.11b wireless radio and features the following security protocols:
