| Writes to magnetic stripes. ID TECH's Reader-Writer has two magnetic heads to enable it to write and verify data with a single pass. It is capable of encoding any of three tracks at either 75 or 210 BPI density.
Reads magnetic stripes. The Reader-Writer reads and decodes up to three tracks of information with a single swipe. A long stainless-steel card guide ensures better card registration and minimizes alignment problems. Magnetic stripe data is output to a standard RS-232 serial interface or USB interface. Available in RS232 serial cable or optional USB-CDC cable connections
Verifies magnetic stripe data. The Reader-Writer verifies the written magnetic stripe data in ISO/ANSI or user-defined formats. Verification status is signaled by a series of three LED indicators.
Configures with Windows-based operating software.
Compatible with ISO/ANSI, AAMVA, and California DMV formats, the Reader-Writer can be programmed using menu-driven operating software. User-programmable features include component tests, read and write functions that display the data, and card comparison routines. Configuration settings can also be user-defined.
Available in default HICO or LOCO Coercivity is the energy retention value of the magnetic material. The low coercivity material is 300 oersted whereas, high coercivity is 2750 to 4000 oersted. The higher coercivity magnetic stripe cannot be erased with a common "refrigerator" or " purse clasp" magnet as the low coercivity may. (In theory)
