About Kanecal
Kanecal started as "Kane Calibration and Repair" in 1986. We serviced machine shops by performing local calibration and repairs in accordance with military specifcation MIL-C-45662 and we had a great reputation of doing quality work with the fastest turn around time in the INDUSTRY.
We soon created our GD&T/SPC fonts which are Engineering, Blueprint, Drafting, Design, Drawing symbols are otherwise known as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing or GD&T symbols. These GD&T and general engineering callout symbols are in accordance with ASME Y 14.5 and began our internet sales. From there we created Barcode Fonts of all types and it made sense to manufacture and sell our own brand of Barcode Scanner, The KaneScan. We shocked the industry when we offered a fully programmable CCD barcode scanner for less than $80!
KANECAL is listed with the Uniform Code Council (UCC) for barcode software design and sales. (http://www.uc-council.org) and also a Certified Member for retail sales. Our UCC Company Prefix is 89473.
In the world of information technology Barcodes go hand in hand with Magnetic Stripe data encryption which prompted us to manufacture and sell our own brand of Magnetic Stripe Reader, The KaneSwipe. Again we shocked the industry when we offered our Magnetic Stripe Reader for under $50!
